Ms. Marjorie J. Gatlin

We the staff of W.E. Flanagan Memorial mourn the loss of our very own Ms. Marjorie J. Gatlin Of Greenville, NC. She entered into eternal rest on October 29, 2020. Marjorie Jean Gatlin was born on March 31, 1945 to the late Eddie and Carrie Brown Gatlin. Affectionately called Mama “G” and “NaNa” attended the Greenville City Schools first at Fleming Street School and graduated from C. M. Eppes High School in the Class of 1965. Shortly after graduation she was employed by John’s Flowers where she was tutored and learned the trade of a florist from 1965-1982. In 1982 she became an entrepreneur where she owned and operated Flowers by Marjorie for 38 years until her death. Marjorie was passionate about her work, dependable, and could always be counted on. She was all about flowers for pageants, weddings, funerals, showers, and just a note of cheer. Marjorie knew what to do whenever “you” called. She was one of the best --- if not the best in floral service in Greenville. Marjorie leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life the love of her life her devoted and loving daughter, Toni Cassandra Langley and her husband Keyford Langley, Sr. of High Point, NC; an adopted son, Darion Omar Vines of Greenville, NC; four grandsons Keyford Langley, Jr. 2020 graduate of Greensboro College now a Cyber Security Analyst in Greensboro; Kameron Langley, senior – N.C. A. & T. State University, Greensboro; Keyshaun Langley, sophomore – UNC Greensboro; and Kobe Langley – sophomore—UNC Greensboro; sisters - Ellis Brown, Caledonia Norfleet, Allie Gatlin, and Mary Gatlin all of Greenville, NC; brothers – Charles Gatlin of Greenville, NC and John Gatlin (Mary) of Tucson, Arizona; sisters-in-law Lauraetta Gatlin and Barbara Gatlin both of Greenville. A host of wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including Willard Gatlin of Hampton, Va. and devoted nephew Keith Gatlin of Greensboro also mourn her passing and carry on her legacy. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, mandated by Gov. Roy Cooper, funeral services will be by invitation only. Social distancing directives shall be followed, in addition, masks are required for all those in attendance of services including all viewing and funeral service.
