Mr. Kadell Stevenson

Mr. Kadell Stevenson, 87, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Phillips Brother’s and Anderson Memorial Chapel. Viewing one hour prior to the service. Mr. Kadell Stevenson AKA (KAY) the son of the late Martha Green Stevenson and William Daniel Stevenson AKA (Scrap) was born in Grimesland, North Carolina on December 19th, 1934. He passed away on November 29th, 2022. Kadell attended Pitt County Training School and Simpson School in Pitt County North Carolina. He was employed with several companies in Pitt County NC and New Jersey. He was married to the late Catherine Stevenson. He was a member of Burney’s Chapel Church of Black Jack Simpson. He gave his life to the Lord and was faithful tither. He will truly be missed. He loved music; his hobbies were singing and playing his guitar; he loved to go fishing along with riding his motorcycles. Kadell loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He loved dressing in fine clothing. He always made a GQ statement when he wears his clothes. He enjoyed eating watermelon. In 1987, he received a Certificate of Upholstery in Philadelphia PA as a Master Upholster. He leaves to mourn his memory, his two sons Marlon and Marcus Stevenson of New Jersey two daughters Gwendolyn Laforest Spencer of New York and Gloria Lavern Moore of Greenville. His two sisters Hazel Blackwell and Beulah M. Stevenson Marable and his two brothers Samuel Stevenson from Philadelphia and Walter Stephenson affectionately known as (Bro) from New Jersey. Kadell was preceded by his four brothers, Douglas Derb Hardy, Leothis Duke Stevenson, Jessie Ray Green and William Daniel along with his sister Doris Ann Stevenson Smith of New Jersey. He leaves behind fifteen grand children; ten great grandchildren two daughter-in-laws Vanessa Stevenson and Shirley Stevenson from New Jersey and one son in law Mr. Phillip Spencer along with a host of nieces, nephew, cousins other relatives and friends. Special thanks to his devoted niece Reverend Diane Stevenson Bell, nephew Lenard Stevenson AKA (Jack), along with other relatives, ECU Health Staff, Ayden Court Nursing, and Rehabilitation Center. Special thanks to his long time companion Carolyn Jean Gaston from Greenville NC.
